Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) Programme

Malaysia My Second Home is referred to as MM2H in a short form. It is an international residential scheme which was launched by the government of Malaysia. Under this scheme, foreigners are allowed to stay in the country on a long-stay visa; who fulfill the requirements of the foreigner to stay in Malaysia as their Second Home. The visa issued by Malaysia 2nd home program lasts for the period of 10 years and is renewable thereafter. Further, there are no minimum days of stay; one can stay as many days as they want throughout the validity of the immigrant visa.

Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) Programme

Malaysia My Second Home is referred to as MM2H in a short form. It is an international residential scheme which was launched by the government of Malaysia. Under this scheme, foreigners are allowed to stay in the country on a long-stay visa; the validity of the visa lasts up to 10 years from the date of issuance. This program is even applicable to every citizen of the country unrelated religion, gender, age, race, and nationality. Additionally, eligibility for this program requires the necessary medical and financial criteria.          

After the successful application of the applicants, they will be allowed permissions to enter and leave the country anytime on an unrestricted basis until the validity of the immigrant visa application. They will also be benefited from some incentives aimed by the Malaysian government to make the stay more convenient.

Note: The visa holder can stay anywhere in the Malaysia but they aren’t allowed to stay in Sabah and Sarawak as they are included as a separate part. For staying over there you need to convert your visa as Sabah and Sarawak version.

Eligibility for MM2H Program

  1. Below 50 years old immigrant
    • Cash in Bank: About RM 500,000
    • Monthly Offshore Income: RM 10,000
    • Approvals
      • It is a must to open fixed deposit account of RM 300,000 at the Panel Bank in Malaysia). After a year of successful opening you can withdraw up to 150,000 for purpose of housing, medical or education.
      • Every applying immigrant is supposed to have an approved medical report from any registered clinic of Malaysia. Once your medical report is approves, you are supposed to posses valid medical insurance applicable in any insurance company.
      • Exemptions are given to the participants who all are facing difficulties in the issuance because of their age or any other concerns.
      • After the completion of 1st year your FD account must maintain RM 150,000 throughout.
      • If the participant purchases own property that was bought at RM 1 million or above then they must put their intention in letter of application to lower down FD from RM 300,000 to RM 150,000. This is possible if the ownership documents are issued appreciatively. The amount of FD can be taken once you terminate your participation in MM2H programme.
  2. Above 50 years old immigrant
    • Cash in Bank: About RM 350,000
    • Monthly Offshore Income: RM 10,000
    • Approvals

MM2H Malaysia Requirements

  • Whole book copy of applicants passport.
  • Marital certificate must be approved.
  • If you are an applicant below age 21 years old then birth certificate is required.
  • Letter of good conduct.
  • Statement of your account history of your home country (6 months).
  • Statement of income (3 months).
  • Passport size photo 4 pcs.
  • Resume

What all granted activities come under the MM2H processing time?

Home Purchase

The immigrant approved has the authority to purchase any residential unit; the minimum price of the purchasing unit must be RM 1,000,000. Additionally, the purchasing price depends upon the location of the property.

Car Purchase

Applicant can bring his/her personal car from their home a locally-assembled car available in the country with the help of car duty exemption in Malaysia.

Helper

Many of the times it has been noted that the MM2H holder faces difficulties in prevailing guidelines of the Immigration Department of Malaysia. Thus, he/she can apply for one helper who can assist him/her out.

Education

The immigrant can bring their children with them if they are less than 18 years or not married. The children above 18 years should apply for a Student Pass under the student’s name.

Tax

Tax exclusion is given to allowance of offshore annuity fund into Malaysia.

Business/Employment

Under this program allowance can incorporate an Sdn Bhd Company in Malaysia (Private Limited Company) as own investment. If you are looking for employment then you can apply in any of the organization in Malaysia, besides, the applicant is above 50 years then they can apply for part time employment in critical sectors where they are not supposed to work more than 20 hours per week.
